Job summary

Oferta confidencial in Tijuana seeks an experienced Import / Export Manager to lead import/export and customs compliance. You will ensure compliance with Mexican and U.S.

regulations, manage IMMEX operations, coordinate brokers and transport providers, and guide the Import/Export / Customs & Compliance team. The role requires strong hands-on experience in international trade and cross-border logistics, plus team leadership and advanced English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in International Trade, International Business, Logistics, Business Administration or related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in Import/Export, Customs, International Trade or cross-border logistics.
• Strong IMMEX experience and knowledge of Mexican customs regulations.
• Experience with U.S. customs compliance and cross-border operations.
• Proven track record leading teams and managing brokers/carriers.
• Advanced English and strong Excel/Microsoft Office skills.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Import / Export Manager to lead our import/export and customs compliance operations in Tijuana.

This position will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Mexican and U.S. customs regulations, managing IMMEX operations, coordinating customs brokers and transportation providers, and leading the Import/Export / Customs & Compliance team.

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience in international trade, customs operations and cross-border logistics, with the ability to combine operational execution, regulatory compliance and team leadership.

Main Responsibilities

• Manage daily import and export operations.
• Ensure compliance with Mexican and U.S. customs regulations.
• Manage and monitor IMMEX operations.
• Validate tariff classification, customs value and non-tariff regulations.
• Coordinate customs brokers, transportation providers and other logistics partners.
• Manage customs incidents, inspections and shipment holds.
• Maintain compliance controls and support internal and external audits.
• Monitor regulatory changes and implement required operational adjustments.
• Manage budgets and cost centers.
• Support operational profitability and strategic planning.
• Lead, develop and manage the Import/Export / Customs & Compliance team.

• Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, International Business, Logistics, Business Administration or related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in Import/Export, Customs, International Trade, Regulatory Compliance or International Logistics.
• Strong experience with IMMEX.
• Knowledge of Mexican customs regulations.
• Experience with U.S. customs compliance and cross-border operations.
• Previous experience leading teams.
• Experience managing customs brokers, carriers and service providers.
• Advanced English.
• Advanced Microsoft Office/Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP, WMS, TMS, inventory systems or customs platforms is desirable.
• Experience in 3PL, fulfillment, distribution, manufacturing or e-commerce is preferred.
