Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a General Accountant to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records through timely month-end closings, reconciliations, and analyses. The role supports financial statements, audits, and compliance with accounting standards, working closely with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities include journal entries, variances, and management reporting, with opportunities to improve processes and systems within the finance function at Vertiv.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
• Experience with month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations is preferred but not mandatory.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle or JDE is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and other accounting adjustments.
• Analyze general ledger transactions for accurate financial reporting and policy compliance.
• Review AR and AP transactions, investigate discrepancies and aging.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve customer and vendor account issues.
• Maintain internal controls and support audit requests.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and management packs.
• Identify process improvements and participate in system implementations.

This role supports the preparation of financial statements, analyzes balance sheet and income statement accounts, and assists with internal and external audit requirements.

Responsibilities (This will describe the overall core responsibilities of the role, decision making responsibilities etc.)

• Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities in accordance with corporate deadlines.
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and other accounting adjustments. Execute balance sheet accounts for reconciliations and investigate outstanding reconciling items.
• Analyze general ledger transactions to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting policies.
• Review and monitor Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) transactions, investigating unusual movements, aging balances, and discrepancies.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues related to customer and vendor accounts.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records and supporting documentation.
• Prepare variance analyses and provide explanations for significant account fluctuations.
• Support the preparation of monthly financial reports and management reporting packages.
• Assist in maintaining internal controls and compliance with company policies and procedures in VERTIV
• Respond to internal audit requests by providing supporting documentation, reconciliations, and account analyses.
• Support external audits and statutory reporting requirements as needed.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and standardization within accounting operations.
• Participate in special projects, system implementations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required/ Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• Previous experience is an advantage but is not mandatory.
• Experience with month-end close processes and balance sheet reconciliations
• Written and verbal communication skills in English.
• MS Office.
• Knowledge of accounting processes.
• Experience with ERP Systems such as Oracle, JDE or similar is an advantage but is not mandatory.
