Job summary

Bluelight is a leading software consultancy seeking a senior backend-focused engineer. You will build low-latency AWS-based services, design scalable RESTful APIs, and ensure secure multi-tenant architectures while collaborating with frontend teams.

You will work with Node.js/TypeScript, React, and CI/CD practices, contributing to complex, large-scale systems and overlapping US business hours. A Bachelor's degree is required, and ongoing professional development is encouraged.

Qualifications

• 5+ years professional software development experience (backend-focused).
• Strong professional experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
• Experience building low-latency API services in AWS.
• Experience building scalable RESTful APIs.
• Experience with SDK integrations to other services.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, including Row-Level Security (RLS).
• Experience building secure multi-tenant environments.
• Comfortable writing raw SQL and managing schema migrations (e.g., node-postgres, node-pg-migrate).
• Professional experience with React.
• Strong testing practices, including integration tests against real databases and failure-mode/fault-injection testing.
• Experience working with AI coding assistants as part of daily development.
• CI/CD application creation and maintenance skills.
• Solid understanding of full stack development, with the ability to contribute to frontend work when needed.
• Substantial background working with large, complex systems.
• Ability to overlap US business hours.
