OPmobility in Mexico seeks a Freight Network Design Engineer to design optimized transport routes, focusing on BOM suppliers, reducing costs and CO2 footprint, and improving logistics efficiency.

You will collaborate with plant supply chain teams, purchasing and forwarders to implement new routes, monitor KPIs, and drive continuous improvement while providing data for budgets and tenders.

Formación

• Bachelor or Master Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or equivalent.
• 5 to 8 years of experience in network design in automotive, forwarding, logistics or distribution industry.
• Experience in reporting and managing projects with cross-functional and global stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

• Calculate & Design Optimized Transport Routes primarily focusing on BOM suppliers; reduce costs and CO2 footprint and enhance efficiency in logistics operations.
• Support freight cost savings initiatives (by plant, by region) with cross-plant synergies; collaborate with internal stakeholders to support initiatives.
• Support the new routes implementation in coordination with plant supply chain teams, purchasing and forwarders to ensure successful implementation.
• Monitor KPIs and evaluate continued suitability; revise the network design in light of changing demand patterns.
• Identify data inconsistencies and drive continuous improvement; provide analytical data and support tenders.
• Prepares a calculation base for budget; updates forecast based on actual costs; investigates deviations to original plan.
• Provides regular updates on data in transport database, ERP and legal documentation.

The mission:

The process of analyzing large shares of the transportation network in terms of cost and performance, identifying improvement potential, making large scale change decisions and implementing a new transportation network structure. This may for example include implementation of new hubs or decisions to make major changes to carrier structure. The scope would be extended to other PO divisions.

As a Freight Network Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Calculate & Design Optimized Transport Routes primarily focusing on our Bill of Materials (BOM) suppliers. Strive to reduce costs and CO² footprint and enhance efficiency in our logistics operations.
• Support freight cost savings initiatives (by plant, by region) with cross-plant synergies. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support freight cost savings initiatives, both at the plant and regional levels. Identify and leverage cross-plant synergies within the division, while also considering cross-divisional opportunities.
• Support the new routes implementation in coordination with the plant supply chain teams, the purchasing and the forwarders to ensure the successful implementation of new transportation routes. Manage the transition smoothly and effectively.
• Monitor regularly the performance of transportation routes through key performance indicators (KPIs e.g. cost, truck utilization etc.) and evaluate their continued suitability in light of changing demand patterns. Revise the network design when necessary to align with evolving requirements.
• Identify and highlight data inconsistencies and collaborate with plant teams to implement corrective actions. Drive a culture of continuous improvement in network design and performance. Provide analytical data and support the team to execute tenders.
• Prepares a calculation base for budget, regularly updates forecast based on the actual costs, investigates deviations to original plan.
• Provides regular updates on the data to be maintained in transport database, ERP and legal documentation.

Education background:

A Bachelor or Master Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or equivalent.

Experience:

• 5 to 8 years working experience in the position of network design in automotive, forwarding, logistics or distribution industry
• Experience in reporting and managing projects with cross-functional and global stakeholders
