Abbott is seeking a Finance Manager in Querétaro, México to lead reporting, planning, and cost-performance analysis in the Electrophysiology division. You will prepare financial plans, publish historical and projected data, and propose alternative actions to optimize manufacturing performance.

The role involves cost accounting management, monthly closings, and collaboration with site leadership. A Bachelor’s degree, 8+ years’ experience, and English fluency are required; a Master’s is a plus.

Responsabilidades

  • Cost Accounting: manage budgets, product costing, variance analysis, inventory reconciliations, forecasting and projections.
  • Closing & Reporting: prepare monthly financial statements and schedules; provide manufacturing performance reports and explanations of yields, scrap, rework.
  • Monitor and review financial reports with site Controller and leadership, including Cost of Sales, Unit Cost and Productivity metrics.
  • Operational business support: provide day-to-day financial support to operations, analyze overhead spending, conduct cycle count audits and manage annual physical inventory.
  • Participate in New Product Transfers, budgeting/forecasting processes, and model alternative financial scenarios.
  • Support cost reduction initiatives and provide direction to Finance/Cost analysts.

The Opportunity

This position works out of our Queretaro, México location in the Electrophisiology División.

In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for reporting, planning, and analyzing financial-cost performance. Prepares financials-cost plans and forecasts based on performance expectations. Gathers and publishes financial information related to historical, current, and future performance. Performs financial analysis concepts and techniques. Recommends alternative course of action.

What You’ll Do
  • Cost Accounting - Manage all the functions and activities associated with the managerial cost accounting section, such as budgets, manufacturing product costing, manufacturing variance (direct labor, material and overhead) analysis, inventory reconciliations, forecasting and projections, etc.
  • Closing & Reporting - Coordinate the timely and accurate preparation of the monthly financial statement, quarterly schedules, year-end financial information packages and the review with Site Controller; Verify reasonableness and provide management with manufacturing performance reports on a daily, weekly or monthly basis, including manufacturing variance analyses and appropriate explanations of yields, scrap, rework and other factors. Analysis of inventory balances and other account reconciliations as assigned.
  • Monitor, prepare and lead the review of financial reports and packages with site Controller before published, Coordinate Financial Review with leadership by gathering and analyzing information related to current performance – Cost of Sales, Unit Cost, Productivity, Throughput, etc.
  • Operational business support : responsible for the day-to-day financial support to operations personnel. Supports operations in the monetary spending overhead analysis and budget control; audits cycle count program to assure its effectiveness and timely reports its results to management. Annual Physical Inventory.
  • Participate in New Product Transfers as required, running budgeting/forecast process, recommending spending initiatives by modeling alternative financial scenarios (e.g. revenues, margin, cost etc.).
  • Supports operations continuous improvement and cost reduction project
  • Provide direction and be a mentor to Finance/Cost analysts, ensuring the finance team provides efficient and effective support to the manufacturing site and provide accurate and timely submissions to site, division & corporate
Required Qualifications
  • Education : Bachelor's degree
  • Years of experience : Over 8 years
  • Other qualifications/certifications : Master’s in economics or business administration is a plus
  • Fluent in English (writing and speaking)
