Job summary

Flex is seeking a Facilities Engineer for its Aguascalientes site to drive maintenance optimization of HVAC, utilities, and wastewater systems. You will coordinate external contractors, supervise maintenance teams, and support safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a engineering degree and 4+ years in facilities engineering or maintenance within manufacturing, with strong project leadership and problem-solving abilities. English skills are a plus in our collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent preferred.
• Typically 4–6 years of related experience.
• Minimum 4 years in Facilities Engineering, Utilities, or Facilities Maintenance in manufacturing.
• Experience managing contractors and maintenance teams.
• Knowledge of preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance.
• Basic English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Research facility products or equipment specifications and performance requirements to define designs which can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods.
• Research engineering proposals, process requirements and related technical data pertaining to industrial facilities machinery and equipment design.
• Defines feasibility of designing new plant facilities equipment or modifying existing facilities considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning and other technical and economic factors.
• Provides technical facilities information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties and process advantages and limitations which affect long-range plant and product engineering planning.
• Compiles and researches facilities data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified equipment.
• Studies engineering and technical publications to keep abreast of technical changes and developments in industry.
• Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
• Guides projects and project teams.
• Manage the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of facility utility systems, including compressed air, nitrogen, special gases, and wastewater treatment systems.
• Lead and coordinate preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance programs for HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems and industrial utilities.
• Coordinate external contractors and service providers, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and operational requirements.
• Manage vendor relationships, service agreements, and contractor performance to ensure reliability and cost efficiency.
• Supervise and coordinate maintenance teams and cross-functional resources to support facility operations and business objectives.
• Support root cause investigations and implement corrective actions related to facilities and utility systems.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, and regulatory standards applicable to facilities operations.
