• Título asociado de 2 años en diseño industrial o ingeniería.
• 2-4 años de experiencia con software de diseño.
• Experiencia en un entorno de fabricación trabajando con operaciones primarias.

Responsabilidades

• Crear y detallar diagramas y plantillas usando software de diseño.
• Actualizar dibujos existentes.
• Preparar diagramas y plantillas para especialidades a partir de dibujos proporcionados por los clientes.
• Realizar pruebas de productos y documentar resultados.

Conocimientos

Proficiente en CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD)

Conocimientos de estándares de dibujo típicos

Experiencia con herramientas de metal y madera

Habilidades de escritura técnica

Capacidades analíticas y de resolución de problemas

Buena comunicación en inglés (verbal y escrita)

Educación

Responsible for providing specialty drawings, templates, and technical support to the product engineering team, customer service, and manufacturing areas.

This is successfully accomplished by understanding and adhering to customer requirements and utilizing design tools and software to create drawings and specifications.

These efforts contribute to sales growth by providing solutions and guidance for specialty products and non-standard product requests (OOS).

Job Duties

• Draw and detail diagrams and templates using design software (Solidworks, AutoCADD).
• Revise and update existing drawings.
• Properly name and locate drawings in appropriate file locations.
• Work with and assist Customer Service in the quoting process of specialty design limitations.
• Prepare detailed diagrams and templates for specialties from customer supplied drawings.
• Communicate directly with customers to process, analyze, and troubleshoot requirements.
• Build product samples when necessary to validate design requirements are met.
• Prepare, set up, and perform product and lab tests.
• Document data gathered from product testing, summarize and provide to engineering manager.
• Review and prepare Bills of Materials (BOM).
• Communicate and provide project status / updates to team lead and other associates within engineering team.
• Assist with troubleshooting and root cause analysis efforts for various product issues.
• Inspect, measure, and evaluate new or existing components to validate and verify design meets requirements.
• Create reports to summarize monthly data.
• Prepare and revise documents (internal fabrication, instruction sheets).
• Manage short and middle duration projects (1- 3 and 3 - 6 months).
• Involved in continuous improvement initiatives following process improvement methods.
• Maintain and organize lab area following 5S principles.
• Integrates quality at the source thinking and activities in daily, individual, team and project work.

Experiencia y requisitos

Must be flexible with job assignments, able to work independently and well with others (team environment).

Must be organized, methodical, quality minded, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work to an established timeline.

Must manage multiple small or limited scope projects, Must communicate well and properly document results of test procedures, and have knowledge of SWF 5S Program.

Skills Needed

• Proficient with CAD drawing (SolidWorks, Auto Cadd)
• Proficient and knowledge of typical drafting standards
• Experience with metal and wood machine tools
• Experience taking data and make process time studies.
• Data collection and management of database.
• Technical writing skills for memos, lab reports, and project updates.

Documentation oriented.

• Strong general math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide, percentages, fractions, metric conversions, algebra, and geometry)
• Good interpersonal skills
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills in English (verbal, written) 50%
• General computer skills Excel, MS Word, Lotus Notes, MS Project and Access
• Frontier System inventory (FRN)
• Preparing Samples for Testing and Analysis
• Manage work according to established project timelines.
• Lean Manufacturing principles knowledge.
• Must be self-motivated, able to mutli-task, with a service minded approach.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

• 2 years associate's degree in industrial design, Engineering Technology, or Industrial Engineering.
• 2-4 years experience working with design related software.
• 2-4 years direct experience in manufacturing environment working with primary operations (stamping, molding, forming, extrusion) and / or secondary fabrication of products.
