Canonical is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead the MAAS team, focusing on private bare-metal provisioning and cloud-style APIs. You will guide high‑quality software development across Linux servers, storage, and networking, with emphasis on distributed systems and leadership across time zones.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with open source communities, and travel 4–6 weeks per year to internal and external events. This is a work-from-anywhere role in EMEA or the Americas.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Proven software delivery experience with Python, Go, or similar languages.
• Experience with Linux system administration (Debian/Ubuntu preferred).
• Familiarity with Linux cloud tech: networking, storage, containers, K8S.
• Strong English written and spoken communication.
• Experience with Agile software development.
• Ability to mentor and develop team members.
• Willingness to travel internationally for events.

Responsabilidades

• Lead a distributed engineering team across Americas and EMEA.
• Coach, mentor, provide feedback and career planning.
• Set expectations with engineering teams, management, and stakeholders.
• Advocate modern software development practices.
• Contribute to code and architectural reviews.
• Collaborate with Canonical teams and partners.
• Travel abroad for internal and external events (4–6 weeks/year).
