Canonical is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead the MAAS team, driving high-quality software development and engineering leadership across a globally distributed team. You will mentor engineers, guide architectural decisions, and collaborate with multiple Canonical teams to advance Metal as a Service in a scalable, cloud-ready stack.

The role requires strong Linux and cloud-native skills, experience with Python or Go, and effective English communication.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Proven experience delivering software using Python or Go.
• Experience with Linux system administration (Debian/Ubuntu preferred).
• Familiarity with modern Linux cloud computing technologies (networking, storage, containers, K8S).
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and software engineering practices.
• Professional written and spoken English with good presentation skills.
• Experience with agile software development methodologies.

Responsabilidades

• Lead a distributed team of engineers across time zones.
• Coach, mentor, and develop engineers; set expectations with other teams and stakeholders.
• Drive modern software development practices and ensure high-quality delivery.
• Collaborate across Canonical teams (cloud-init, LXD, public cloud offerings).
• Engage in architecture and code reviews; guide technical strategy and execution.
• Travel internationally 4–6 weeks per year for events and collaboration.
