Product engineer owns engineering product responsibility for a specific product/ familyof products.
Effectivelymanage engineering activities(e.g.product validation, DFMEA updates, drawing approvals, specification updates)for product changesassociatedtocustomer requestsand ordesign optimizations.
Product Engineers are considered theexpertsfor one or more products providing technical support to customers, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.
This position works closely with Test and Design Engineers to generateand or updateproduct documentation(e.g.standards, DVP, drawings), performand conduct product testingvalidation,and collaboratein cross-functional teams to achieve the technicaland business objectives.
Coordinate work withQuality Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers,suppliersandcustomersas necessary.
Collaborate with Design Engineers to plan and generate necessarychanges toproduct’sdrawings and models.
Collaborate with TestandCorporateEngineers to developvalidationplan forproduct design changes.
Collaborate with manufacturing teams (quality and assembly)in order todevelop processesin compliancewith productspecificationrequirementsas necessary.
Elaborate testing procedures for parts to be analyzed.
Provide conclusions and recommendations based on testing reports.
Responsible forsupplier’sPPAP’sevaluationand approval.
DFMEA owner/responsible.
Lead product safety activities and procedures for the products under his/her responsibility and follow up on action items with team members .

Proficient in GD&T
CADand FEAknowledgeis astrongplus
Pneumatic valves, Mechatronics, and Solenoid designknowledge isstronglypreferred.
Familiarity with Six Sigma processesand statisticsisstronglypreferred.
SAP knowledge is a plus.
Engineer 2: 2+ years of experience plus bachelor’s degree
Engineer 3: 6+ years related experience with bachelor’s degree or 5+ years related experience with master’s degree
Minimum3yearsofexperience in engineering, with3or more years of automotive or similar industry experience
At least3years of experience in productresponsibility
High levelof experience in DFMEA’s and PFMEA’s
Experience providing technical support to final customers
Lead in cost reduction projects
Experience in statistical analysis (E.g.DOE,CPk)
Experience working closely with casting and machining processes
Experience in design and manufacturing reviews
Team skills are essential
Strong analytical andproblem solvingskills
Able to have technicalsupport to customers and vendors
Pneumatic valvesknowledge is highly preferred
Excellent communications skills (verbal/written)
