The ideal candidate will monitor compliance, lead training for contractors, and audit safety conditions in production areas. Job Purpose

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a EHS Technician In this role, the main responsibilities include support and execute actions within BorgWarner’s integrated system of safety, asset protection, health, and environment, with the objective of preventing accidents, emergencies, and environmental impacts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Update and monitor the Safety Findings database in the designated platform (weekly reports, compliance, and assignment of walkthroughs).
  • Verify on-site and system closure of Safety, Health, and Environmental findings.
  • Lead the EHS&S training process for contractors and suppliers, including documentation review, credential issuance, and renewal.
  • Knowledge of and participation in ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
  • Provide support in EHS&S initiatives aimed at preventing accidents and environmental impacts.
  • Audit compliance with maintenance and inspection of emergency systems (extinguishers, alarms, spill kits, eyewash stations, etc.).
  • Assist in employees’ evaluations for level changes (training checklist).
  • Support verification and monitoring of operational controls and working conditions for the release of high-risk activity permits.
  • Assist in reviewing and updating EHS&S documents/visual aids (procedures, formats, safe work analyses, PPE matrix, safety data sheets, environmental aspects and impacts assessments, metrics, incompatibility tables, etc.).
  • Support in collecting behavioral observations of personnel and consolidating them for reporting purposes.
  • Verify safety and environmental operational controls for contractors and suppliers within plant facilities, as well as assist with invoice submission to the warehouse.
  • Audit Safety, Health, and Environmental conditions in production areas, external areas, and administrative offices (risk conditions, unsafe acts).
  • Maintain records of hazardous and non-hazardous waste logs, manifests, and quantities.
  • Support coordination of hazardous and non-hazardous waste shipments and disposals.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of onboarding.
  • Stop processes in case of deviations.
  • Actively and enthusiastically participate in DE&I and plant engagement activities.
What we’re looking for

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Schooling: Bachelor’s degree in industrial safety and occupational Hygiene, Advanced Technician in Environmental Management.
  • Experience Time in similar position: 2 years or more in a similar position.
  • Technical knowledge required:
  • Intermediate knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 systems
  • Intermediate knowledge of NOM standards
  • Ergonomics
  • Risk Analysis
  • Safety Devices
  • Other requirements: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Strong communication skills
