Job summary

Flex in Tijuana is seeking an EH&S Engineer to lead environmental safety programs, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Reporting to the EH&S Manager, you will design, implement and monitor safety policies, train staff, investigate incidents and drive health and safety improvements across the plant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Intermediate English required.
• Certified lead auditor for ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Experience implementing and monitoring EHS KPIs (incidents, illnesses, compliance with work plans).
• Ability to identify health and safety hazards and recommend corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Consult with departments on equipment safety and fire prevention programs.
• Review plans and specifications for new machinery to ensure safety precautions are included.
• Inspect plant facilities to identify hazards and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Define safety clothing and devices; install safety devices on machinery.
• Coordinate safety training for emergencies and policies.
• Investigate accidents to minimize recurrence and prepare reports.
• Conduct hygiene evaluation.
• Identify health and safety hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Serve as internal consultant on ergonomics, hazardous materials, industrial hygiene and fire and chemical safety matters.
• Audit business units and liaise with vendors/engineers on safety matters.
• Compile and submit safety reports.
• Administer workers’ compensation.
• Execute ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 activities.

Job summary:

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add an EH&S Engineer located in Tijuana.

Reporting to the EH&S Manager, EH&S Engineer role involves in charge of developing, implementing and monitoring company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations. Accident‑free, healthy work.

What a typical day looks like:

• Consults with all departments on design and use of equipment, fire prevention and safety programs
• Examines plans and specifications for new machinery or equipment to define if all safety precautions have been included.
• Tours plant to inspect fire and safety equipment, machinery and facilities to identify and correct potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Define requirements for safety clothing and devices, and designs, builds and installs or directs installation of safety devices on machinery.
• Conduct or coordinates safety training to educate workers about emergency acknowledge, safety policies, laws and practices.
• Investigates industrial accidents to minimize recurrence and prepares accident reports.
• Conducts hygiene evaluation.
• In charge of identifying health and safety hazards and recommending corrective actions.
• Serves as internal consultant to business units on ergonomics, hazardous materials, industrial hygiene and fire and chemical safety matters.
• Audits business units.
• Interfaces with outside vendors, contractors and engineers regarding facilities, chemicals and other workplace health and safety related matters.
• Compiles and submits safety reports.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Intermediate English.
• Certified as a lead auditor in ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
