Bombardier Transportation GmbH is seeking a Director of Operations for the 2nd shift in Mexico to lead multiple business units and drive performance. You will shape the strategic direction with senior leadership, oversee governance, budgeting, and resource alignment, and champion continuous improvement across sites.

Ideal candidates bring 12+ years of leadership in manufacturing, aerospace or regulated industries, plus extensive experience in large-scale transformations and cross-site programs.

Formación

  • 12+ years of progressive professional experience, with leadership roles.
  • At least 5 years in a Manager-level role leading managers and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Manufacturing experience in regulated industries preferred (aerospace/auto).
  • Experience leading strategic projects, plant startups, or large-scale transformations.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, QAD or related standards and governance.
  • Strong business acumen with ability to lead in complex environments and drive decisions.
  • Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management, and team development capabilities.

Responsabilidades

  • Partner with senior leadership to define and execute the strategic vision for BAES Mexico.
  • Lead the team through recruitment, performance management, coaching, and talent development initiatives.
  • Ensure operational excellence, productivity, and results across multiple business units.
  • Define and oversee governance, metrics, capacity planning, and resource allocation.
  • Lead cross-site and global projects ensuring alignment with priorities.
  • Provide leadership in dynamic environments and drive timely decisions.
  • Optimize workforce planning and manage resources across sites in collaboration with Finance.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.

What are your contributions to the team?
  • Partner with senior leadership in defining and executing the strategic vision for BAES Mexico.
  • Develop and implement operational and functional strategies aligned with business objectives and long-term growth plans.
  • Lead, develop, and inspire a team of Managers, Supervisors, and professional staff through recruitment, performance management, coaching, mentoring, succession planning, and talent development initiatives.
  • Ensure operational excellence and accountability for the performance, productivity, and results of multiple business units.
  • Establish and oversee business, production, and organizational plans, including governance frameworks, performance metrics, capacity planning, resource allocation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and deliver complex cross-site and global projects, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and successful execution.
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction in dynamic and complex business environments, making sound and timely decisions to drive results.
  • Optimize workforce planning and organizational effectiveness by defining, managing, and aligning resources with business requirements.
  • Partner closely with Finance to develop budget strategies, manage operational expenditures, and ensure effective allocation of resources across sites.
  • Foster a culture of operational excellence, collaboration, accountability, and employee engagement.
  • Champion and promote the Achieve Excellence System, driving continuous improvement and best practices throughout the organization.
  • Support additional strategic initiatives and responsibilities critical to business success.
How to thrive in this role? Skills, knowledge and experience
  • Minimum of 12 years of progressive professional experience, with a proven track record of delivering results in complex business environments.
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience in a Manager-level role or equivalent, leading managers, supervisors, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Manufacturing experience is required, preferably within the aerospace, automotive, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Demonstrated experience leading strategic projects, plant start-ups, operational expansions, or large-scale transformation initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, operational excellence, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Comprehensive understanding of systems and standards and applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements (ISO 9001, QAD, and related frameworks).
  • Proven ability to ensure compliance, strengthen operational governance, and implement sustainable improvement strategies across the organization.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to lead in complex environments, manage organizational priorities, and drive strategic decision-making.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and team development capabilities.
  • Ability to foster a culture of accountability, engagement, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

Availability and flexibility to provide leadership, oversight, and decision-making support during Second Shift operations.
