About the role

The Associate Design Engineer supports the development and implementation of crucial design projects for New Product Development (NPD) in residential and light commercial HVAC products. Responsibilities include 3D modeling, drafting, assembly design, release of new part numbers, prototype creation, and bill of materials (BOM) management. The role focuses on applying best design practices to both mechanical and electromechanical systems, optimizing for manufacturability, commonality, serviceability, and cost. The engineer collaborates closely with internal customers and cross-functional teams, ensuring timely and high-quality project execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support release product engineering design for commercial manufacturing plants through engineering review.
  • Participate in equipment design from concept through manufacturing check sample.
  • Support and update engineering drawings and BOMs.
  • Assist with Engineering Check Samples (ECS) and Manufacturing Check Samples (MCS) builds, capturing design improvements and opportunities.
  • Create layouts, sketches, and drawings using 3D modeling and design engineering tools (e.g., Creo, Windchill).
  • Follow and adhere to product design engineering specifications.
  • Maintain integrity in all engineering data and keep BOMs updated.
  • Provide creative, innovative, and design-for-manufacture solutions.
  • Support design concepts from conception to engineering documentation release, aligning with business objectives.
  • Design subsystems and components for functional systems, advanced prototypes, and specified products using CAD and engineering systems.
  • Plan and execute assigned projects to ensure timely completion.
Requirements

As a minimum you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (I ME, IMA, IA, IM, Aeronautical, Biomedical, Mechatronics)
  • 6 months to 1+ years of relevant experience in an engineering design environment.
  • Knowledge of design tools such as Creo (Sheet metal, 3D modeling, assemblies, drawing, wiring routing, piping), Windchill (BOM management).
  • Knowledge of tolerance analysis (GD&T).
  • Technical knowledge in design concepts, sheet metal process fabrication, and assembly process.
  • Advanced English (Mandatory).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Experience with Creo, SolidWorks, or equivalent CAD systems.

It would be nice if you have:

  • Experience in HVAC, programming, electrical, and SAP is a plus.
  • Experience in sheet metal design.
  • Proficiency in modeling software.
