Descripción del empleo

The Designer / Application Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and integration of heat exchanger components into gasoline and diesel engine systems. This role ensures that thermal systems meet performance, durability, and manufacturability requirements through rigorous engineering analysis, testing, and cross-functional collaboration. The position supports product development from concept through launch, contributing to the growth and technical excellence of Garrett’s Thermal Systems business.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Master’s degree is a plus but not required.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical component designing 3D models, GD&T.
  • Proficient in English, both speaking and writing.
  • Experience with developing and/or launching products in the automotive or similar industry
  • Experience with heat exchanger design, engine integration, or component validation is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., ONSHAPE, CATIA, NX, or SolidWorks) for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
  • Strong understanding of heat transfer principles and ability to perform thermal calculations.
  • Experience with FEA and CFD analysis methodologies (preferred).
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as welding, brazing, casting and sheet metal fabrication.
  • Familiarity with Design Verification and Product Validation (DVPR) methodologies.
