Job summary

Golden Technology, Inc. is seeking a Databricks Architect to shape and govern our data platform in Mexico.

You will review the current Databricks environment, design the lakehouse architecture across raw, cleaned, curated, and serving layers, and define Unity Catalog models with appropriate access controls. You will decide workspace boundaries, ingestion approaches, naming and lineage conventions, and build compute and cost models.

Responsibilities

• Reviews the current Databricks environment: workspace structure, catalogs, permissions, compute patterns, storage, cost
• Designs the lakehouse architecture: raw, cleaned, curated and serving layers, plus a feature layer for models
• Defines the Unity Catalog model: catalogs and schemas, managed versus external tables, external locations, row filters and column masks
• Decides workspace and catalog boundaries between environments and data domains
• Chooses the ingestion approach: incremental file loads, streaming, declarative pipelines, change data capture, federated access
• Defines naming, ownership, lineage and access-granting conventions
• Builds the compute and cost model: cluster and warehouse types, policies, tagging, spend forecasting
• Sets up delivery and environment promotion: project bundles, source control, catalog parameterization
• Produces architecture decision records and diagrams; leads reviews.
