• Operate, maintain and manage Oracle databases and other database platforms including Elasticsearch, Vertica, Cassandra, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, on-prem and in AWS.
• Design and Implement HA/DR solutions; Data Guard, RAC and replication.
• Own backup, patching and upgrade lifecycles; build automation that replaces manual activities.
• Monitor health and performance with Oracle Enterprise Manager, Datadog and Prometheus.
• Enforce database security, access controls, and automated compliance reporting.
• Plan capacity and lead database migrations between versions, platforms, and clouds.
• Manage incidents, changes, and problems in ServiceNow; resolve tickets within SLA and document resolutions clearly.
• Periodically participate in weekend on-call rotation and planned patching and maintenance activities.

General Summary:

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator to join our global database engineering team, supporting mission-critical data platforms across our worldwide operations. In this role, you will own the design, performance, availability, and security of a heterogeneous database estate spanning enterprise relational, NoSQL and cloud technologies deployed across on-premises data centers and the cloud. You will partner with application teams, SREs, security, and infrastructure engineers to ensure our data tier meets the demands of a 24x7 global business.

What You'll Do

• Operate, maintain and manage Oracle databases and other database platforms including Elasticsearch, Vertica, Cassandra, Snowflake, PostgreSQL), on-prem and in AWS.
• Design and Implement HA/DR solutions; Data Guard, RAC and replication.
• Own backup, patching and upgrade lifecycles; build automation that replaces manual activities.
• Monitor health and performance with Oracle Enterprise Manager, Datadog and Prometheus.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of database administration work experience with a bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of database administration work experience without a bachelor's degree.
• Production Oracle DBA experience on Linux/UNIX: installation, patching, RMAN backup/recovery, and performance tuning.
• Expertise in at least one additional NoSQL or relational platform (Elasticsearch, Vertica, Cassandra, Snowflake, Postgres).
• Oracle HA and replication experience (Data Guard & RAC).
• Strong fundamentals in database architecture, replication, clustering, and backup/recovery.
• Experience implementing high-availability and disaster-recovery solutions.
• Scripting for automation (Python, Bash).
• Strong communication and documentation skills; able to explain complex issues to non-DBA audiences.
• Experience working with globally distributed teams and supporting workloads across multiple time zones.

Preferred Qualifications

• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or equivalent certification.
• Hands-on experience operating databases in the cloud, including managed database services
• ITSM experience using ServiceNow (or equivalent) for incident, change, and problem management; familiarity with ITIL service-operations workflows.
• Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipeline experience for database delivery.
• Familiarity with observability stacks; Datadog, Prometheus
• Experience mentoring or leading a small technical team.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3+ years of IT-related work experience with a Bachelor's degree.
• 5+ years of IT-related work experience without a Bachelor’s degree.
