British American Tobacco Mexico has an exciting opportunity for a Data Engineer in Monterrey

As a Data Engineer supporting the LATAM North DRBU, you will play a key role in enabling data-driven decision-making for Customer Experience (CX) and One Source projects. You will design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and architectures that ensure reliable, scalable, and high-quality data is available for analytics and business intelligence.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines to support CX and One Source initiatives.
  • Integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring data quality, consistency, and security.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, BI teams, and IT to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Enable self-service analytics by ensuring data is accessible and well-documented.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data workflows for performance and reliability.
  • Support data governance, documentation, and compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Participate in the evaluation and implementation of new data technologies and tools.
  • Ensure timely delivery of data assets to support business reporting and analytics needs.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across functions and suppliers to ensure that the solution is working as expected and data is accurate.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in building ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as Python, SQL, PySpark, or similar.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, GCP Dataflow).
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and database management.
  • Familiarity with data visualization and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
  • Experience working in cross-functional and multicultural teams.
