Job summary

PPG is seeking a Customer Quality Engineer in Mexico to lead supplier quality management across the supply chain, ensuring compliance with quality, cost and delivery standards. You will validate specifications, mitigate risks, and drive improvements through audits and corrective actions, reporting to a CQE Coordinator.

You will collaborate with Supplier Management teams, drive 8D problem solving, and coordinate with regional/global groups to implement changes and maintain global quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Bio-Chemistry, or Engineering required.
• +3 years experience in Customer Management for Automotive, Industrial or Packaging.

Responsibilities

• Accomplish supplier evaluations and audits, driving corrective and preventive actions based on findings.
• Manage supplier quality issues affecting operations and customers, addressing non-conformities and leading root cause analysis (8D).
• Lead claim processes through product return and credit note generation.
• Monitor supplier indicators including rejection rates, recurrences, and delivery performance.
• Ensure supplier training on defect prevention and quality systems.
• Collaborate with procurement and technical teams to assess supplier quality-cost-delivery impact.
• Act as primary quality liaison between company and suppliers, coordinating with regional/global teams.
• Guide implementation of procedural changes, and global quality communications.

As a Customer Quality Engineer, you will be lead comprehensive supplier quality management to ensure compliance with the highest standards of quality, cost, and delivery across the entire supply chain. You will focus on validating specification compliance through rigorous evaluations, mitigating quality risks through audits corrective actions, and improving collaboration with strategic suppliers. Additionally, ensure agreement on global standards by working with Supplier Management teams, contributing to the strengthening of the supplier management system and achieving our operational goals. You will report to a CQE Coordinator.
