Job Description
The Cost and Accounting Analyst IV plays a key role in managing cost accounting processes and overseeing the entire fixed assets lifecycle. This position ensures accurate financial reporting, supports budgeting and forecasting activities, and delivers strategic insights into cost structures and asset utilization. This role requires strong collaboration with operations, supply chain, and finance teams to drive efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement.
The individual is responsible for
- Analyze and report manufacturing costs, variances, and margins to support decision-making.
- Maintain and update standard costs within the ERP system.
- Perform monthly cost roll-ups and reconcile inventory accounts accurately.
- Provide cost data and analysis to support budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
- Partner with operations to understand production processes and key cost drivers.
- Maintain and control the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate capitalization, depreciation, and disposals.
- Monitor asset additions, transfers, and retirements in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Perform periodic physical asset audits and reconciliations.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements (including SOX, if applicable).
- Prepare audit schedules and provide support during internal and external audits.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports related to cost and fixed assets, including Balance Sheet, P&L, and FCC analysis.
- Develop and maintain reports for actuals for sales, profit, and expenses; provide insights and recommendations to improve planning processes.
- Develop and maintain reports for actual expenses and project costs, ensuring accuracy and timely updates for management review.
- Provide variance analysis and commentary to management.
- Support financial close activities and ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Create dashboards and KPIs to monitor cost performance and asset utilization.
- Identify and implement process improvements in cost accounting and fixed asset management.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, Local GAAP, and internal policies.
- Participate in ERP system upgrades and automation initiatives related to costing and asset tracking.
Technical Attributes and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
Minimum of 7 years of experience in cost accounting and fixed asset management.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost flows and asset accounting principles.
Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP required; BPC experience is a plus).
Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
PREFERRED
Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools (considered a strong differential).
Advanced English proficiency.
Familiarity with corporate financial policies, internal controls, and audit processes.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum of 7 years of experience in cost accounting and fixed asset management.
Proficiency in ERP systems SAP.
