Magna International Limited in Saltillo, Mexico, is seeking an experienced Customs and Trade Compliance Specialist to oversee the customs area and ensure compliant operations in a dynamic automotive environment.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in import/export, advanced English, and IIS/IMA/LAE education. You will coordinate shipments, liaise with brokers, and support origin certification within Magna Mechatronics, Mirrors & Lighting operations.

Qualifications

• Need IIS, IMA or LAE degree.
• Minimum 5 years in a similar role.
• Advanced English required.

Responsabilités

• Oversee the proper functioning of the customs area, maximizing benefit and minimizing risk for the company.
• Advise, guide and train staff under supervision to ensure responsibilities are efficiently carried out.
• Supervise activities related to the customs area.
• Provide resources required by staff to meet departmental objectives.
• Negotiate with customs brokers for proper foreign trade operations.
• Propose improvements and cost reductions.
• Coordinate extraordinary shipments on weekends.
• Support Origin Qualification in all trade agreements.
• Support customs valuation.
• Register and update foreign trade matters.
• Reconcile Annex 24.
• Fixed asset reconciliation.
• Positive feedback from national suppliers.
• Monitor and reconcile with Annex 24.
• Report changes and amendments.
• Handle special operations.
• Annex 31 Return percentage.
• Initial inventory and write-off reports.
• Coordinate CTMs and annual adjustments.
• Annual report.
• Annual renewal of VAT certification (IVA)

Job Responsibilities

• Supervisar el correcto funcionamiento del área de aduanas, buscando obter siempre el mayor beneficio y menor riesgo para la empresa, colaborando como área para crear una empresa de clase mundial.
• Asesorar, orientar y entrenar al personal a su cargo involucrándose en el trabajo de los mismos, a fin de que las responsabilidad asignadas se cumplan eficientemente
• Supervisar Actividades relacionadas con el área de aduanas.
• Facilitar los recursos requeridos por personal a su cargo para el cumplimiento de los objetivos por departamento.
• Negociación con agentes aduanales para la correcta operación de comercio exterior en la empresa
• Proporcionar ideas de mejoras y reducción de costos
• Coordinación de embarques extraordinarios en fin de semana
• Apoyo en Calificación de Origen en todos los tratados
• Apoyo en Valoración Aduanera
• Registro y Actualizaciones en materia de comercio exterior
• Conciliación de Anexo 24

Requisitos

• Escolaridad: IIS, IMA, LAE
