A leading global manufacturer seeks a Continuous Improvement Engineer in Mexicali, Baja California. This role focuses on enhancing manufacturing and back-office processes through Continuous Improvement methodologies like Lean and Kaizen. The successful candidate will lead projects, identify efficiency opportunities, and ensure compliance with quality standards. Candidates should have a relevant Bachelor's degree, experience in Lean Manufacturing, and strong analytical and communication skills. The Continuous Improvement Engineer will provide leadership, support, and project management to drive Continuous Improvement tools and methodologies across both manufacturing and back-office processes.

By using methodologies such as Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S, and Design for Lean Six Sigma, the role will identify improvement opportunities and partner with department leaders to implement solutions that generate efficiency, productivity, and added value. All improvements must comply with Regulatory, Quality, and Corporate Compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a key contributor in establishing a Continuous Improvement culture, leading by example and serving as a trusted partner across the Sonova organization.
  • Ensure the implementation and sustainability of SonovaX tools and roadmap throughout the organization.
  • Identify processes with significant improvement potential through the use of SonovaX tools (e.g., Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen).
  • Serve as a change agent, identifying and removing organizational barriers when required.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing teams to ensure achievement of annual productivity targets.
  • Participate in the development of the Kaizen funnel for productivity projects and ensure timely execution of Kaizen events.
  • Facilitate Kaizen events, follow up on the sustainment phase, and report achieved savings.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to project teams to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Ensure all proposed improvements are aligned with Regulatory, Quality, and Corporate Compliance requirements.
  • Deliver ongoing training and education to the organization on Continuous Improvement methodologies.

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent.

  • Proven experience implementing Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing tools.
  • Experience leading productivity and efficiency improvement projects.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams in manufacturing and/or back-office environments.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Solid knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools.
  • Financial mindset with a focus on cost savings and value creation.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Results-driven with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • English proficiency: 80% (intermediate to advanced level).
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Visio.
