Turner & Townsend in Mexico is seeking a highly experienced Civil Construction Manager to lead on-site civil construction activities for large-scale data center projects in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato. You will coordinate multiple contractors, manage schedules, ensure safety, and deliver mission-critical infrastructure on time and within budget.

  • Bachelor's degree required in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years in managing large-scale construction projects.
  • Minimum 3 years delivering data center, mission-critical, or similar infrastructure.
  • Experience coordinating CSA and MEP activities.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish; strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead daily civil construction activities across foundations, structural works, and site infrastructure.
  • Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and client stakeholders for alignment with objectives.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules; monitor progress and implement corrective actions.
  • Enforce strict quality control and conduct site inspections to ensure specs compliance.
  • Establish safety culture with protocols, toolbox talks, and regulatory adherence.
  • Manage site logistics, procurement coordination, and workspace organization.
  • Prepare and maintain site documentation including reports and inspections.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks with proactive communication to leadership.
  • Collaborate with MEP teams for integrated execution across disciplines.
  • Monitor budgets, cost controls, and resource utilization to meet targets.
  • Serve as primary client liaison with regular updates and issue resolution.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Civil Construction Manager to lead on-site construction operations for large-scale data center projects in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico.

In this critical leadership role, you will oversee all civil construction activities, coordinate multiple contractors and stakeholders, and ensure the successful delivery of mission-critical infrastructure projects. As the primary site leader, you will drive project performance, maintain schedule adherence, enforce quality standards, and foster a strong safety culture throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all daily civil construction activities, including foundations, structural works, and site infrastructure across Civil, Structural, and Architectural (CSA) disciplines.
  • Coordinate and manage contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and client stakeholders to ensure effective communication and alignment with project objectives.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, monitor progress against milestones, and implement corrective actions to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Enforce rigorous quality control standards and conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance with technical specifications and project requirements.
  • Establish and maintain a proactive safety culture by implementing safety protocols, leading toolbox talks, and ensuring compliance with applicable safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Manage site logistics, including equipment allocation, material procurement coordination, and workspace organization to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive site documentation, including daily reports, progress updates, inspection records, and compliance documentation.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks through proactive analysis and transparent communication with project leadership.
  • Collaborate closely with MEP teams to ensure integrated and coordinated execution across all project disciplines.
  • Monitor project budgets, cost controls, and resource utilization to support financial objectives and project performance targets.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client stakeholders, providing regular project updates and addressing concerns with professionalism and transparency.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience managing large-scale construction projects.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience delivering data center, mission-critical, or comparable infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating CSA and MEP construction activities.
  • Strong knowledge of construction safety standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Proven experience managing project schedules, budgets, cost controls, and performance tracking.
  • Professional fluency in both English and Spanish.
  • Proficiency with construction management platforms and project management software.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal abilities with experience managing diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to work full-time on-site in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) and/or PRINCE2 certification.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification or equivalent construction safety credential.
  • Experience delivering hyperscale data center or mission-critical infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Mexican construction codes, permitting processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) and advanced project management tools.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively in bilingual technical and business environments.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
