For every child, the right to opportunity
UNICEF Mexico is actively working in the state of Chiapas to ensure the delivery of quality results for children, particularly amid complex humanitarian challenges. We provide hands‑on leadership and management at the field office level, focusing on effective staff and asset management, robust knowledge management, and comprehensive programme planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting. Special emphasis is placed on the Migrants and Refugees Response Plan across Chiapas, Oaxaca, and Tabasco, supporting vulnerable children affected by migration and humanitarian pressures. UNICEF Mexico collaborates closely with national and local counterparts, offers technical and operational support to government partners, and works to strengthen local systems to address protection risks, education, health, and safe water needs for children on the move. These efforts are aligned with the Core Commitments for Children in Humanitarian Action, country programme goals, and donor accountability requirements, ensuring that the rights and needs of children in Chiapas are prioritized despite ongoing challenges.
As the incumbent of the Chief Field Office fixed‑term position in Chiapas is assigned to a different project, temporary coverage of this post is required to ensure continuity of leadership and operations at the Field Office. The temporary support will strengthen sub‑national leadership to ensure the delivery of quality results aligned with UNICEF’s programme of cooperation, the Country Programme Management Plan (CPMP), and the Representative’s overall vision. The temporary support will represent UNICEF in the Area of Responsibility (AoR) and oversee programme sectors and operations, including preparedness and response in line with the Core Commitments for Children in Humanitarian Action.
