Job summary

Sanner America (formerly Gilero) in Tijuana, Mexico seeks an Engineering Intern to gain hands-on experience in medical device development and manufacturing. You will assist with product development, rapid prototyping, test method development, data analysis, design documentation, and lab operations in a fast-paced setting.

You will contribute to prototype testing, data collection, and documentation while pursuing an engineering degree or working toward one.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an engineering degree or currently enrolled in an accredited program.
• Familiarity with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
• Ability to perform engineering calculations and basic quantitative data analysis.
• Maintain accurate, organized, and traceable engineering records.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering project teams in development, refinement, and evaluation of medical devices and delivery systems.
• Build, assemble, modify, and rework prototypes and finished components for testing and reviews.
• Develop and document engineering test methods in line with ASTM, ISO, and predicate-device approaches.
• Conduct product testing including force, flow-rate, package integrity, and dimensional inspection.
• Perform failure mode investigations and contribute to root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Collect, analyze, and document test data; prepare clear test records and reports.
• Create and revise 2D drawings and 3D CAD models of devices and fixtures using SolidWorks.
• Prepare project plans, product specifications, test protocols, and design inputs.
