S&P Global is hiring in Mexico City for a mid-level Financial Accountant role. You will maintain journal entries under NIF and US GAAP, ensure tax-compliant invoices, and support tax and audit processes with cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes Excel proficiency, attention to detail, and strong communication in English and Spanish to navigate local and US reporting requirements.

Formación

• Strong experience in US GAAP and MEX GAAP.
• 2+ years in Financial Accounting with focus on general accounting and tax.
• Mid-level accounting skills and basic financial reporting knowledge.
• Advance written and oral communication in English and Spanish.
• Investigative research and analytical capabilities with attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (including macros).
• Proactive, able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and customer-centric approach.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare and record journal entries per Mexican accounting standards (NIF) and US GAAP.
• Prepare, review, and ensure compliance of invoices and electronic receipts per Mexican tax laws.
• Support customer and internal inquiries on accounting matters.
• Assist in preparing responses to tax authorities’ invitations.
• Prepare tax reports and files to support tax refunds.
• Electronic accounting filing and retrieval of compliance letters from SAT/INFONAVIT/IMSS.
• Assist senior accountant with working papers for Annual Income Tax returns.
• Follow up with insurers to retrieve warranties and finalize admin processes.
• Support statutory audits with necessary documentation.
• Audit travel expense reports for tax compliance and policy adherence.
• Prepare accounting reports to provide financial insights.
