Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is seeking a Contractor Safety Specialist to implement the Contractor Risk Management program across client locations. You will guide site management, ensure EH&S compliance, and maintain records of visits and training across multiple facilities.

The role requires English and Spanish fluency, strong communication skills, and the ability to travel to remote sites within the region. The position is hybrid with on-site work in Mexico City.

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or Business Administration is preferred.
• Solid understanding of EHS regulations and ISO standards.
• Proficient in multiple EHS Management Systems and MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Implement the Contractor Risk Management program for a designated area.
• Review scopes of work and permits to ensure safety compliance for high-risk activities.
• Monitor performance, audit for contractor compliance, and stop work when required.
• Investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions.

What this job involves?

The Contractor Safety Specialist will be responsible for implementing the Contractor Risk Management Program for JLL and client contract and vendor operations at client locations. The program must ensure a systematic approach to Contractor Risk Management is implemented and monitored to ensure compliance with JLL and client strategic objectives. This position will provide guidance and support to site management, program owners, and site personnel across multiple facilities to ensure compliance with EH&S requirements through the design, organization, implementation, and maintenance of policies, procedures, and programs. The Contractor Safety Specialist must understand EH&S laws and regulations for their area of responsibility along with the Critical Performance Indicators and Key Performance Indicators related to customer expectations in this area. The objective is to deliver EH&S leadership at each site in a manner that protects all personnel and property while avoiding loss and providing business continuity.

• Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
• Gross Monthly Salary: $40,509 MXN

What is your day to day?

• Implement the Contractor Risk Management program for designated area of responsibility, including contractor/sub-contractor or vendor pre-qualification, work authorizations, safety induction, and training.
• Review scopes of work and job hazard analyses to ensure regulatory safety compliance and approve permits to work for contractor activities, including high-risk operations such as LOTO, electrical safety, fall protection/rigging, hot work, confined space entry, and roof access.
• Monitor performance and review work upon completion; implement "Stop Work" authority when adherence to agreed-upon terms and conditions is not met.
• Conduct periodic audits to ensure EHS contract compliance and identify areas for improvement.
• Investigate and report on incidents involving contractors and vendors; identify root causes, recommend corrective actions, and follow up on mitigation efforts.
• Maintain strong client relationships through effective communication, responsiveness, and consistent delivery of safety and compliance support.
• Create and maintain accurate records of all EHS contractor and vendor site visits and related documentation.

Desired Experience and Technical Skills:

• Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Solid understanding of EHS regulations and ISO standards as they relate to occupational safety and environmental compliance.
• Proficient in multiple EHS Management Systems and adaptable to using a variety of technologies (Velocity EHS, Intelex, HSI, etc.).
• Ability to speak in front of large audiences and deliver in-person and remote EHS training effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite and contract management software.
• Able to travel on short notice to remote sites within the region.
• English and Spanish fluency is mandatory.
