Job summary

Applaudo Studios in Mexico City is seeking a skilled Backend Developer with strong Python expertise to design APIs, build scalable services, and orchestrate background tasks using FastAPI, Celery, Docker, and Kubernetes.

You will own backend components, develop microservices, integrate with third-party APIs and Azure services, and ensure reliability in cloud environments. Excellent English communication is required to collaborate with a US-based team.

Responsibilities

You Will Be Accountable for the Following Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain reliable backend services and REST APIs using Python and FastAPI.
• Build and maintain microservices that support enterprise applications, integrations, and data and analytics operations.
• Implement database access and persistence layers using SQLAlchemy and relational databases.
• Develop and manage asynchronous tasks, scheduled jobs, and background processing workflows using Celery.
• Support ETL processes and data workflow orchestration to enable reliable data processing and integration.
• Integrate applications with third-party APIs and Azure services, implementing appropriate authentication and access controls.
• Containerize applications using Docker and deploy and operate services in Kubernetes environments.
• Troubleshoot technical issues, improve service reliability, and optimize application performance.
• Contribute to dashboards and supporting services for enterprise data and analytics operations as needed.
• Maintain clear documentation of APIs, integrations, technical decisions, and development processes.
• Collaborate with team members to clarify requirements, identify potential risks, and deliver maintainable solutions.
• Communicate progress, blockers, and risks proactively, proposing solutions and ensuring commitments are met.
