Job summary

Crown Holdings is seeking a skilled equipment operator to run the baler safely and efficiently, ensuring proper packaging of recyclable materials and waste, and contributing to orderly plant operations.

You will load materials, monitor bale formation, and maintain a clean, safe work area in a manufacturing environment with variable conditions. Forklift license is desirable; willingness to work rotating shifts and uphold safety standards.

Qualifications

• Secondary education or equivalent.
• Experience operating industrial machinery, preferably balers or similar equipment.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing plant environment with dust, noise and variable temperatures.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform repetitive physical work.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Commitment to workplace safety.
• Basic knowledge of preventive maintenance of equipment (desirable).
• Forklift license desirable, if applicable to plant functions.

Responsibilities

• Operate the baler according to standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
• Load materials into the baler manually or with auxiliary equipment (e.g., forklift, if certified).
• Ensure bales are formed correctly, meet weight and dimension specs, and are tied securely.
• Perform visual inspections for contaminants or non-conforming items.
• Keep the workspace clean and organized, including baler area and surroundings.
• Report any equipment malfunction, maintenance issue or unsafe condition immediately to supervisor.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient workflow and production targets.
• Comply with all company safety policies and procedures.

Job Description

Resumen del Puesto**

Operar equipos de empacado (baler) de manera segura y eficiente, asegurando el correcto procesamiento y embalaje de materiales reciclables o desechos, contribuyendo al orden y la limpieza de la planta.

• Operar y monitorear la máquina empacadora (baler) de acuerdo con los procedimientos operativos estándar y las directrices de seguridad.
• Cargar materiales en la empacadora de forma manual o con equipo auxiliar (ej. montacargas, si aplica y se cuenta con certificación).
• Asegurar que los fardos (bales) se formen correctamente, tengan el peso y las dimensiones especificadas y estén atados de forma segura.
• Realizar inspecciones visuales de los materiales para identificar posibles contaminantes o artículos no conformes.
• Mantener el área de trabajo limpia y organizada, incluyendo la limpieza de la empacadora y sus alrededores.
• Reportar cualquier mal funcionamiento del equipo, problema de mantenimiento o condición insegura al supervisor de inmediato.
• Colaborar con el equipo para garantizar un flujo de trabajo eficiente y el cumplimiento de los objetivos de producción.
• Cumplir con todas las políticas y procedimientos de seguridad de la empresa.

Cualificaciones del Puesto**

• Educación secundaria o equivalente.
• Experiencia previa en la operación de maquinaria industrial, preferiblemente empacadoras o equipos similares.
• Capacidad para trabajar en un entorno de planta de fabricación, que puede incluir exposición a polvo, ruido y temperaturas variables.
• Habilidad para levantar objetos pesados y realizar trabajo físico de forma repetitiva.
• Atención al detalle y capacidad para seguir instrucciones verbales y escritas.
• Disposición para trabajar en turnos rotativos, fines de semana y días festivos según sea necesario.
• Compromiso con la seguridad en el lugar de trabajo.
• Conocimientos básicos de mantenimiento preventivo de equipos (deseable).
• Licencia de montacargas vigente (deseable, si aplica a las funciones específicas de la planta).
