ZEISS Group in Mexico is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to lead end-to-end automation initiatives, driving efficiency, quality, and innovation across projects. You will manage cross-functional teams, perform advanced CAD work, and implement Kaizen ideas while ensuring safety and compliance.

The role requires 3–5 years of experience in automation engineering, with skills in Ladder Logic, Python, C++, and PLC/SCADA/DCS environments.

Formación

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years in automation engineering or similar roles.

Responsabilidades

  • Manage and administer automation projects, including time planning, activity allocation, and progress tracking.
  • Develop project timelines and ensure compliance with established deadlines.
  • Perform advanced CAD designs and complete full technical development (programming, design, integration, testing, specifications, and documentation).
  • Validate equipment and follow up on technical requests (PREQ, RFQ, and PO's).
  • Coordinate interdepartmental communication and attend internal and external meetings.
  • Monitor material and spare parts purchases; manage vendor relationships and external project execution.
  • Generate and close CAPEX budgets; prepare project budgets.
  • Propose and implement Kaizen initiatives and innovative solutions to customer requirements.
  • Train personnel on new implementations and system updates.
  • Generate project documentation, activity reports, CAPEX position papers, and project closure reports (OR).
  • Maintain 95% compliance with SDC procedures; ensure workplace cleanliness, safety, and tool maintenance.
  • Carry company identification at all times and maintain effective communication with management.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation Engineer to lead and execute automation projects from conception to completion. In this role, you will drive operational efficiency, quality, and innovation by managing end‑to‑end projects, developing advanced technical solutions, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and promoting continuous improvement across all automated processes.

Key Responsibilities:

These functions are not limiting, and other duties may be assigned according to organizational needs.

Requirements:
Experience:
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years in automation engineering or similar roles.
Technical Skills (Desirable):
  • Programming languages: Ladder Logic, Python, or C++.
  • Control systems: PLCs, SCADA, and Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
  • Advanced CAD design proficiency.
Soft Skills:
  • Strong leadership and project management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and cross‑functional coordination skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset and teamwork orientation.
  • Discipline and attention to procedural compliance.
