Fitch Ratings is seeking an Analyst to join its North American Insurance team in Monterrey, MX to support the rating process for insurers across the U.S., Bermuda and Canada. The successful candidate will work with senior team members and gain exposure to a range of qualitative and quantitative analyses.

Responsibilities include monitoring ratings, performing data analysis of financial statements, updating internal tools, preparing rating committee documentation, following market developments,

Formación

  • 1-2 years of experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Understanding of financial statements.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to shift fluidly between multiple projects as priorities change.
  • Technical Proficiency (Excel/Word/PowerPoint, Data Analytics).
  • Resourcefulness in terms of managing challenges associated with data collection and analysis.
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic.
  • Able to work independently yet contribute to team objectives.

  • Perform data analysis of key quantitative and qualitative factors affecting credit quality of insurers.
  • Update and enhance internal analytical tools used for peer analysis and charts.
  • Provide active support to senior team members in data collection, macro/microeconomic research, peer comparisons, internal tools, and other tasks.
  • Closely follow market developments surrounding rated transactions and issuers.
  • Participate in internal discussions on sector-wide credit issues leading to research publications.
  • Provide timely response to rating requests and review issuance terms with analytical input.
  • Propose improved processes for capturing and synthesizing market-relevant information.

We are currently looking for an Analyst to join our North American Insurance team to be based out of our Monterrey office. In this role, candidates will work with senior members of the Insurance team on all aspects of the rating process, covering insurance companies in the U.S., Bermuda and Canada.

We’ll Count on You To:

  • Monitor a portfolio of issuer ratings, including the preparation of rating committee documentation.
  • Perform data analysis of key quantitative and qualitative factors influencing the credit quality of insurers, including financial data entry.
  • Update and enhance internal analytical tools used for peer analysis and charts
  • Provide active support to other senior members of the team in data collection, macro/microeconomic research, peer comparisons, internal tools, among other operational tasks.
  • Closely follow market developments surrounding rated transactions and issuers
  • Participate in internal discussions on sector-wide credit issues that could lead to publication of research reports.
  • Provide timely response to issue rating requests, review issuance terms and provide preliminary analytical input.
  • Propose improved processes for the capture and synthesis of market-relevant information.

What You Need to Have:

  • 1-2 years of experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree. Finance-related degree desired, but open to other degrees.
  • Understanding of financial statements.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to shift fluidly between multiple projects as priorities change.
  • Technical Proficiency (Excel/Word/PowerPoint, Data Analytics).
  • Resourcefulness in terms of managing challenges associated with data collection and analysis
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic.
  • Able to work independently yet contribute to team objectives.

What Would Make You Stand Out:

  • Experience and knowledge of financial statements and business models of financial institutions,
