Placements24 is seeking a crypto risk analyst to join its compliance and risk management team in Puebla. The role focuses on identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks related to digital assets, trading, custody, and related operations.

You will develop risk policies, perform risk assessments, monitor regulatory changes, and report findings to senior management. A background in finance or crypto risk, strong analytical skills, and knowledge of AML/KYC are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in risk analysis, compliance, or financial regulation.
• Strong understanding of cryptocurrency markets and blockchain technology.
• Knowledge of AML/KYC and FATF recommendations.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present complex information clearly.
• Ability to work in a team and manage multiple priorities.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., FRM, CFA, CAMS) are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Identify, assess, and quantify risks related to cryptocurrency investments and operations.
• Develop and implement risk management strategies and frameworks.
• Monitor market trends and regulatory changes impacting digital assets.
• Perform due diligence on new crypto assets and trading partners.
• Analyze transaction patterns to detect and prevent illicit activities (e.g., money laundering).
• Develop KRIs and KPIs for risk monitoring.
• Prepare risk reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.
• Collaborate with legal, compliance, and operations teams to ensure adherence to regulations.
• Perform stress testing and scenario analysis on portfolios and processes.
• Contribute to internal controls and procedures.
