Fundamental Purpose
Provide support to the Demand Planning / Pricing Manager (and Business Managers) supporting the Sales and Marketing teams, and with interactions with internal managers, perform competitive and customer value chain analyses to assist in long-range plan and strategy development. Analyze all demand planning / forecasting and price / profit aspects of the business to recommend actions to maximize profitability and achieve long-term growth.
Responsibilities
- Support and manage all job activities in compliance with and in alignment with PPG Blueprint objectives, P&LP process, and goals for Safety, Quality, Business Conduct, Code of Ethics, Responsible Care, and EEO.
- Perform value chain analyses on customer processes, to determine thorough understanding of quantitative and qualitative impact of PPG product offerings on customer value drivers and provide data to develop customer value propositions.
- Gather the appropriate data and assumptions to analyze the profitability of commercial actions through development of business cases.
- Formulate and recommend pricing strategies, based on customer value and product profitability analyses.
- Analyze all financial aspects of the business to recommend actions to maximize profitability and achieve long-term growth.
- Review / update SBU demand plan at various levels of detail; analyze and maintain integrity of core statistical forecasts; work closely with Sales and Marketing functions to incorporate customer, market, and product intelligence to maximize the accuracy of the demand signal passed to downstream functions (Supply Chain; Finance; Mfg; Transportation).
- Provide forecast accuracy data to assist in management of Flat Glass' monthly Demand Consensus and ESOP meetings. Also support monthly deviation analysis on results including Sales volume, Sales dollars, and PC Margin for territories, regions and SBU.
- Participate in creation of annual BSR and LRP process; work closely with Sales & Marketing functions to accurately define price and volume assumptions for Sales Regions, Market Segments, and Product Groups.
- Assist in management of Sales Rebate process; ensure proper documentation submitted to meet audit requirements.
- Update key monthly volume and price metrics; perform daily ad hoc volume and price analysis as required.
Requirements
- The incumbent must possess broad business and financial skills.
- The incumbent should have a solid understanding of PPG's systems, financial policies and procedures, and excellent PC skills.
- The incumbent must also interact well with others in a team environment, have good written and verbal communication skills, and be self-motivated.
- Travel will be required (approx. 10%).
- Bachelor's degree (Accounting / Finance / Economics).
Languages
Proficient English and Spanish.
Salary
$23,000 - $25,000 per month.
