Job summary
Placements24 is seeking a Biologist Researcher in Mérida, Yucatán to advance agricultural biotechnology. The role focuses on developing and applying biotechnological tools to improve crops, including lab and field studies and collaboration with a cross-disciplinary team.

Qualifications
- PhD or master's in biology/biotech/plant science or related field.
- Proven research experience in agricultural biotechnology or plant genetics.
- Hands-on molecular biology techniques (PCR, qPCR, sequencing).
- Familiarity with genetic engineering and/or CRISPR/Cas9.
- Experience with experimental design and data analysis (R/SAS).
Responsibilities
- Conduct plant molecular biology, genetics and breeding research.
- Develop and optimize protocols for genetic modification and gene editing.
- Perform laboratory analyses including DNA extraction and sequencing.
- Design and manage field trials for new plant varieties.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary scientists and technicians.
