Job Purpose

The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for leading key activities related to new projects (NBO), including preparing quotes, managing capital investments (CAPEX), capacity planning, and optimizing equipment use in accordance with the long‑term plan (LRP). In addition, the engineer will drive the research, development and implementation of new technologies and processes within the Manufacturing Engineering area, working closely with suppliers and multidisciplinary teams, both globally and locally. This position requires availability to travel to various PHINIA plants and supplier facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare budgets and ensure accurate and timely quotations using the Global Quotation System (GQS), including technical feasibility studies.
  • Manage the CAPEX budget by department, owner and forecast, in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
  • Coordinate capital investment requests for future budget cycles.
  • Ensure capacity planning and efficient equipment utilization in accordance with the LRP, in coordination with Production and Lean Manufacturing departments.
  • Evaluate new product requirements (NBO) and volume increases for existing products to ensure manufacturing capacity.
  • Provide functional support to the New Launches team during program reviews.
  • Define technical specifications and manufacturing standards, considering PHINIA technologies and market trends.
  • Facilitate the introduction of new products and technologies in New Launches.
  • Develop technical specifications for the acquisition of new equipment.
  • Collaborate with the PHINIA Global Team in the development and implementation of new technologies and processes.
  • Research and compare emerging technologies to improve quality and reduce costs.
  • Train process engineering and maintenance personnel in the operation of new equipment.
  • Prepare and present technical information to customers, suppliers and management.
  • Support the preparation of APQP documentation in accordance with AIAG standards.
  • Coordinate with contractors to ensure safety during industrialization and initial production.
  • Perform safety/ergonomic evaluations on newly developed equipment.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams at the plant for the introduction of new manufacturing equipment.
  • Actively participate in the Annual Physical Inventory.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, manufacturing, or related field)
  • Experience in a similar position: 5 years of related work experience in the automotive industry.
  • Required technical knowledge:
    • Proficiency in manufacturing processes and quality systems.
    • Management of multiple simultaneous projects and fulfillment of deliverables.
    • Application of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools.
    • Program management and development of technical specifications.
    • 3D design, statistical analysis, and project management.
  • Other requirements: organization and leadership, report writing skills, measurement systems, effective communication and negotiation, results‑oriented approach.
