Job summary

Eaton in Querétaro is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to support the monthly closing, prepare balance sheet reconciliations, and manage journal entries, accruals, and VAT compliance.

You will collaborate with internal control, audit teams, and cross-functional groups to improve processes, ensure accurate tax reporting under Mexican and US GAAP where applicable, and maintain a safe, compliant work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Accounting required.
• 2-3 years of experience in general accounting.
• Knowledge of Mexican statutory reporting requirements and VAT.

Responsibilities

• Perform and support the monthly closing process for Sites.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations (BSR) including VAT and other taxes.
• Review and validate cash application and bank transactions.
• Prepare monthly income and expense reconciliations.
• Register and analyze hedges monthly.
• Ensure accuracy of recorded taxes and VAT compliance.
• Generate monthly payment complements for invoices to comply with tax requirements.
• Collaborate with Internal Control Audit and Statutory Audits.
• Lead process improvements and standard work within the department.
• Maintain safe, clean working environment per Eaton safety standards.
