ALTEN Mexico, a leading engineering company, is seeking a Design Engineer – Interior (Soft Trim) in Saltillo, Coah., Mexico. You will develop interior components, manage deliverables, interact with suppliers, and use PLM/CAD tools.

The role requires 1+ years automotive interior experience, knowledge of carpets/mats/loads floors, soft plastics and fabrics, and proficiency in CATIA or 3DX, DFMEA/DVPR. English B2–C1 and cross‑functional collaboration are essential.

Formación

• 1+ years of experience in automotive interior design or development.
• Carpets, mats, load floor, and interior components knowledge.
• Soft plastics and fabrics experience for interiors.
• Proven experience as a DRE, DRE support, or Product Engineer.
• CAD tools: CATIA and/or 3DX.
• Strong GD&T, tolerances, and variation analysis knowledge.
• Manufacturing processes, feasibility, interfaces, and validations.
• Knowledge of DFMEA, DVPR, and technical development docs.
• DFMEA/DFA, injection molding, tooling processes knowledge.
• PLM systems, BOM management, and engineering release process familiarity.
• English level B2–C1.

ALTEN Mexico as a subsidiary of the ALTEN Group. Currently working with international clients, and we are looking for a Design Engineer – Interior (Soft Trim) will be responsible for the comprehensive development of vehicle interior components. The role requires technical expertise, deliverable management, interaction with suppliers, and proficiency in PLM/CAD tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Synthesize program requirements (financial, weight, complexity) aligned with the thematic style.


• Evaluate advanced topics and elevate incompatibilities.

Must‑Have Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in automotive interior design or development.


• General knowledge of the following components: carpets, mats, load floor or cargo floor.


• Experience needed in soft plastics: rubber, foams, vinyl, elastomers, EPP, etc. / Fabric: non woven fabrics, acoustic materials, insulators.


• Proven experience as a DRE, DRE support, or Product Engineer.


• Proficiency in CAD tools: CATIA and/or 3DX (3DExperience).


• Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerances, variation analysis, and parametric design.


• Experience with manufacturing processes, feasibility, interfaces, and validations.


• Knowledge of DFMEA, DVPR, and technical development documentation.

• Knowledge of DFMEA/DFA, injection molding, and tooling processes.


• Experience with PLM systems, BOM management, and engineering release processes.


• English level B2–C1.

Preferred Skills

• Experience on commodities like headliner, seats or NVH can be valuable as well.


• Knowledge of CAE, basic stress analysis, or mechanical validations.


• Knowledge of DFA/DFS, packaging, static/dynamic clearances, and craftsmanship.


• Previous participation in vehicle launches or global programs.


• Experience with RFQs, costs, and sourcing/supplier support.
