Celestica, Inc. in Monterrey, Mexico is seeking a Specialist, IT Solutions to work with site business functions to identify and implement IT-driven process improvements.

You will collect and document requirements, coordinate with IT teams, provide system training, and participate in IT projects, including coordination and management. You will collaborate with global IT and business users, ensuring solutions meet functional needs while maintaining quality and schedule constraints.

Formación

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in IT, Engineering, or related field, with electronics industry exposure.
  • At least 5 years working experience in IT/Engineering, preferably in electronics manufacturing.
  • Experience in software development life cycle and large-scale projects.

Summary

The Specialist, IT Solutions will engage with site business functions to identify and advocate business process improvement opportunities through the use of IT solutions. Collect, analyze, develop, document and communicate business requirements, and work with various IT teams to develop and deliver solutions. Provide support and user training on selected systems (for example SFC, ERP and local applications). Participate in IT projects in various capacities, including project coordination and management.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Engage with community to explore opportunities for the use of IT solutions
  • Gather and document business requirements
  • Work with various IT teams to develop and deliver IT solutions
  • Respond to system problems by analyzing the issue and determining the next course of action
  • Provide system training to end users
  • Participate in and lead various IT projects as required

Work with business and IT users globally to identify business needs, define scope, and requirements, identify key issues, design & presenting solutions, test, system implementation, and training.

  • Liaises with the business community to understand business processes and defines how software tools can be leveraged to optimize the business process.

Manage projects and assist development teams in understanding requirements and application design.

Create and maintain necessary project documentation, such as blueprint, solution design, test scripts, user manual, and system setup.

Assist users with system setup and configuration during implementation

Provide 2nd-level support service to site IT teams, worldwide.

Work closely with Business/System Analysts to design & develop complex applications and its modules

Work with a team of developers to create and maintain solutions to satisfy business requirements

Test application to ensure it complies with the requirements

  • Good communication, documentation (including flow charting) and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of an electronic manufacturing environment, materials and processes.
  • Understanding of SCM, shop floor control and ERP applications.
  • Solid knowledge of the business area to be supported and a solid understanding of its associated business processes.
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle concepts and practices.
  • Knowledge/experience with application-to-application and business-to-business integration.
  • Basic to good coding skills in specified programming languages.
  • Understanding of interrelations between IT components (software, OS, databases, network, servers, etc.)

Familiarity with MS SQL (views, triggers, stored procedures, functions, etc.)

Experience as a .NET Developer for at least 5 year. (.Net core) , Full stack.

Experience in large scale projects ie. 30 developers, 500K lines of code

Good or excellent written and oral communication skills in English (Will be an advantage)

Ability to explain technical ideas clearly

Good teamwork skills

Ability to work under pressure and deadline

Can work independently and require less supervision

Takes initiative and is keen to learn new system concepts

Knowledge and experience with full system development life cycle

Willing and able to travel when needed

Willing to keep up to date with developments in technology

Bachelor or Master's degree in IT, Engineering, or related field

At least 5 years of working experience in either IT/Engineering field in an Electronics Manufacturing industry; Or experience in Project Management/System Analyst/Business Analyst role preferably in a software development company

Physical Demands
  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.

  • 4 to 6 years; Experience in similar roles

Bachelor Degreeor consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
