Job summary

A'Takamul International School Kuwait is seeking a certified teacher to lead curriculum planning and department development within the academic division. You will support administration staff, coordinate yearly curriculum plans across subjects, and ensure alignment with accreditation standards.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of teaching experience, plus a Teaching Credential/License and TESL/TEFL certificates.

Qualifications

  • Certified Teacher required.
  • Bachelor's degree minimum.
  • 2+ years teaching experience preferred.
  • Teaching Credential/License and TESL/TEFL certificates (100+ hours) required.

Responsibilities

  • Encourage staff development and support activities on the administration team.
  • Assist in the completion of the curriculum.
  • Collect and develop a yearly curriculum plan for all subjects within the department.
  • Identify overall aims and objectives with their subject area.
  • Design the structure of the work within the subjects and in meeting the need of the students.
  • Observe teachers and ensure the appropriate curriculum is covered.
  • Train and support teachers by observing classes and developing a training program to meet their needs.
  • Assist in the design of assessment tests with the level Principal and school counsellor.
  • Assist teachers in development and review of assessments within the subjects.
  • Write a yearly report on the department's successes and challenges at year end.
  • Develop action plans over department challenges.
  • Chair subject committees for accreditation purposes.
  • Help solve problems and resolve conflicts within the department by meeting with teachers, students and parents as needed.
  • Liaise with coordinators to ensure smooth transitions between grades.
  • Gather and present information to share with the subject team.
  • Motivate students and staff by personal influence and concern for the team.
  • Gather, analyse and make available student achievement records.
