Job summary

Zaleej Real Estate Company (KSCC) invites applications for a Site Engineer to lead on-site engineering for the Shuwaikh Villas project in Kuwait. You will coordinate daily construction activities, manage subcontractors, and ensure adherence to drawings, specs, and schedules.

You will also support the Chalet project and assist other engineering tasks as required, while ensuring safety, quality, and precise site records. Arabic is the native language with English proficiency expected.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of site/project engineering work experience in villa or low-rise construction.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Strong knowledge of construction practices, standards and safety regulations.
• Good communication and coordination skills, able to manage subcontractors independently.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Project/Primavera, Excel.
• Native Arabic fluency and professional English; Kuwait residency Article 18; valid Kuwait driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day construction activities and material arrangements on site, planning weekly ahead.
• Review drawings and technical specifications, resolve discrepancies and raise queries as needed.
• Oversee subcontractors and labour; verify progress and payments before approval.
• Monitor progress against the work programme and report weekly with recovery actions.
• Ensure quality, health, safety, and environmental compliance through inspections and corrective actions.
• Maintain site records, daily reports, photos, and project documentation.

ABOUT US

Zaleej Real Estate Company (KSCC) is a Kuwait real estate company that manages a diversified portfolio of commercial and residential properties across Kuwait and delivers its own construction and development projects through an in-house Construction Projects Department.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Site Engineer holds the on‑site engineering responsibility for the Shuwaikh Villas project: planning, coordinating, and driving daily construction activities while managing subcontractors, materials, payments due, and technical matters to keep the villas on schedule and within specification. You run the site with a high degree of independence, reporting to the Project Manager, and additionally monitor the Chalet project and support other projects’ engineering tasks as required. Success in the first 12 months: the villas progressing to programme with no unresolved technical issues, subcontractor claims verified and paid on time, and complete site records.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate day‑to‑day construction activities and material arrangements on site, planning each week ahead so that labour, subcontractors, and materials are in place when needed.
• Review engineering drawings, layouts, and technical specifications, resolve discrepancies as they arise, and raise formal queries to the consultant or design office where clarification is needed.
• Oversee subcontractors and labour, ensuring all work conforms to approved drawings and specifications, and verify subcontractor progress and payments due before submitting them for approval.
• Monitor project progress against the work programme, identify slippage early, and report weekly to the Project Manager with recovery actions.
• Ensure compliance with quality, health, safety, and environmental requirements through regular inspections, hold points, and follow-up of corrective actions.
• Manage technical matters and coordinate with the design/technical office as needed, including material and shop drawing approvals and authority inspections.
• Maintain site records, daily reports, progress photographs, and project documentation.
• Monitor the Chalet project and support engineering tasks on other Zaleej projects as directed by the Projects Manager.
• Any other job‑related tasks as required by Management.

Essential (Must‑Have)

• 3–5 years of site/project engineering work experience in villa or low‑rise residential construction.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of construction practices, standards, and safety regulations.
• Good communication and coordination skills, with the ability to manage subcontractors independently.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other required engineering software (MS Project or Primavera, Excel).
• Native (mother‑tongue) fluency in Arabic and full professional fluency in English — must read, write, and speak both.
• Transferable Article 18 residency (Kuwait).
• Valid Kuwait driving licence and a car.

Preferred (Nice‑to‑Have)

• Prior independent ownership of a complete residential project from excavation to handover.
• Experience with Kuwait Municipality and MEW inspections and approvals.
• Kuwait Society of Engineers registration.
