Job summary

Egis is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our port and terminal operations team in Kuwait City. You will oversee mechanical systems, lead engineers and technicians, and ensure safety and efficiency across all infrastructure.

You will design, troubleshoot, and maintain cranes, conveyors, loading systems, and related equipment, using CAD tools and engineering analysis to deliver reliable performance and cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years as Mechanical Engineer, with 5+ years in port/terminal or heavy industrial operations.
• Experience designing large-scale mechanical systems for port environments.
• Proficient in CAD and engineering design tools.
• Knowledge of ship loaders, cranes, conveyors and material handling equipment.
• Strong leadership and team supervision capabilities.
• Understanding of safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Budget management and cost analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement mechanical systems for port/terminal operations (cranes, conveyors, loading systems).
• Conduct analyses and troubleshoot mechanical equipment to identify issues and drive corrective actions.
• Oversee maintenance, repair, and lifecycle management of mechanical equipment for reliability.
• Lead and supervise engineers and technicians, providing guidance and development opportunities.
• Manage budgets and allocate resources to ensure equipment performance and cost effectiveness.
• Develop and enforce safety protocols per international maritime standards and local regulations.
• Collaborate with operations, procurement, and vendors to optimize performance and vendor relationships.
• Create technical drawings and documentation using CAD tools and other engineering software.
• Conduct inspections and implement preventive maintenance to improve efficiency.
• Analyze operations data and propose process improvements to reduce costs and boost productivity.
