Qualifications

• B.Sc/B.Eng in Mechanical/Environmental and Building Services Engineering.
• Member of Kuwait Society of Engineers for government-type projects.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in relevant quality projects.

Responsibilities

• Review staff qualifications and CVs to ensure project suitability.
• Implement quality assurance procedures for review and inspection throughout the project period.
• Review materials/equipment for compliance with specifications; coordinate with Head of Department/Design Staff.
• Review shop drawings for design conformity and coordination; gather feedback from Site Engineer/Inspector or design office.
• Review method statements to ensure feasibility and project goals.
• Inspect deliveries and installed work for conformance with shop drawings and specs.
• Monitor Contractor's submittals to local authorities and ensure timely approvals.
• Attend site visits with Local Authorities to clarify ambiguities and facilitate approvals.
• Respond to RFIs to clarify ambiguities.
• Review and approve Contractor payments based on completed work; approve change orders/variations.
• Attend regular meetings with Construction team and Client to report progress and resolve issues.
• Ensure compliance with local codes including health, safety and environmental requirements.

Job description

• „XReviews Contractor's staff qualifications and CVs to ensure that they are qualified for the Project at hand.
• „XPuts into place quality assurance procedures to ensure that procedures for review and inspection of installations are maintained throughout the project period.
• „XReviews materials and equipment to ensure that they are in accordance with the specifications. Coordinate with the Head of Department/Design Staff and obtain their comments prior to actioning.
• „XReviews shop drawings to ensure that they are in accordance with the design and that they are coordinated. Where applicable, receive feedback from the Site Engineer/Inspector or design office and incorporate their comments.
• „XReviews method statements to ensure that the Contractor proposal is feasible and will achieve the intended purpose.
• „XInspects deliveries/installed/constructed work to ensure that it is in accordance with the shop drawings and the specifications.
• „XMonitors Contractor's submittals to local authorities and ensure that they are carried out in a timely manner in accordance with the contract document.
• „XMeets with Local Authorities along with Contractor where required and attend site visits by Local Authorities in order to clarify ambiguities and queries to facilitate a smooth approval process.
• „XResponds to Contractor's request for information to clarify ambiguities.
• „XReview and approve Contractor's payment in line with estimated work completion so that he can be paid for the actual work done.
• „XReviews and approve Contractor's change order request and variation so that legitimacy and extent can be confirmed. Prepare and issue job site instructions for new works and modifications to the tender contract.
