Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Senior EOR/IOR Operations Specialist in Kuwait to lead screening and design of recovery concepts for mature fields. You will assess reservoir suitability, injection systems, and facilities interfaces, drawing on deep field experience to drive value.

The role requires translating opportunities into technical and commercial propositions, guiding junior staff, and collaborating with senior stakeholders to ensure robust, decision-ready inputs and execution plans.

Responsibilities

• Screen and select fit-for-purpose recovery concepts for mature fields (waterflood, gas, chemical EOR, etc.).
• Assess reservoir suitability, injectant availability, facilities, well deliverability and risks as an integrated system.
• Bring field EOR/IOR experience from studies to design maturation, implementation, start-up surveillance and monitoring.
• Understand technologies, chemicals, equipment, surveillance tools and injection systems for EOR/IOR concepts.
• Quantify incremental recovery, production impact, uncertainty ranges, and value drivers for decision support.
• Translate opportunities into differentiated technical and commercial propositions with clear execution paths.
• Coach and guide junior specialists to ensure robust and decision-ready inputs.

Job Description

• Leading the screening and selection of fit‑for‑purpose recovery improvement concepts for mature fields, covering waterflood optimization, gas injection, chemical EOR, thermal methods, conformance control and hybrid approaches.
• Assessing reservoir suitability, injectant availability, facilities requirements, well deliverability, surveillance design, operational readiness, commercial value, and execution risks as one integrated system.
• Bringing first‑hand experience from EOR/IOR projects that moved beyond studies into design maturation, implementation, start‑up surveillance, and performance monitoring, including lessons learned from what did and did not work in the field.
• Understanding the technologies, chemicals, equipment, surveillance tools, injection systems and operational services needed to deliver an EOR/IOR concept. Engage the right product or technical authority during design when needed.
• Quantifying incremental recovery, production impact, uncertainty ranges, implementation risks, and value drivers for screening, ranking, and investment decision support.
• Translating EOR/IOR opportunities into differentiated technical and commercial propositions, including assumptions, execution pathways, partnership needs, and risk mitigation plans.
• Challenging recovery assumptions, benchmark analogs, guide junior specialists, and ensure EOR/IOR inputs are technically robust and decision‑ready.

Fuel your passion

• Have BSc/MSc in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Have previous experience in EOR/IOR design, screening, piloting, implementation, or field optimization.
• Have 15+ years of experience in reservoir engineer or production engineering
• Have good understanding of recovery mechanisms, injection systems, facilities interfaces, surveillance strategies, and commercial value drivers.
• Be able to demonstrate ability to defend recovery concepts and investment cases with senior technical, commercial, and leadership stakeholders.
