Job summary

Menzies Aviation in Kuwait is seeking an experienced software developer to research, design, test, implement and maintain software programs, including web applications, APIs and automation services to support business operations.

The role requires a solid SDLC understanding, Microsoft stack skills (C#, ASP.NET MVC, .NET Core, Entity Framework), SQL, HTML/XML/JSON, and experience with AI-assisted development tools to improve efficiency while maintaining security and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in IT or Computer Science; Microsoft development certifications preferred.
• Minimum four years of relevant software development experience.
• Strong knowledge of SDLC, web development, source control, release management, debugging, and 3-tier architecture.

Role Purpose

The role is responsible for researching, designing, testing, evaluating, implementing, and managing software programs as well as identifying areas for modifying existing programs and developing these modifications. Furthermore, the role includes developing & maintaining custom applications, customising products from vendors and performing analysis to resolve simple & complex tasks/ issues, ensuring compliance as per departmental SOP and QHSE norms.

• Responsible for translating software requirements into workable programming code and maintaining as well as developing programs for the business & clients
• Design, develop, and maintain web applications, APIs, background services, scheduled tasks, and automation solutions to support business operations.
• Develop and manage scheduled jobs, Windows Services, Azure WebJobs, Azure Functions, and background processing services for business-critical applications.
• Design, develop, and maintain integrations with internal, external, and third-party systems using REST/SOAP APIs, web services, message queues, SFTP, and other integration technologies while ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.
• Leverage approved AI-assisted development tools to enhance software design, coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and code reviews while exercising professional judgment to verify accuracy, security, compliance, and maintainability of all deliverables.

What we are looking for

• Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent degree in IT, preferably with Microsoft Development Certifications
• Minimum four years of relevant experience
• Full understanding of software development life cycle, web development, source control, release management, debugging, 3-tier application development
• Professional knowledge/experience: C#, ASP.NET MVC, Entity Framework, .net core, Jscript, ADO.net, SQL, HTML, XML, JSON, JQuery, CSS.
• Experience using AI-assisted software development tools (such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, or similar) to improve engineering productivity while adhering to secure coding and governance standards.
