Job summary

The Senior Accountant at Trafalgar Luxury Group in Kuwait City will lead accounting functions, ensure accurate financial reporting, and maintain compliance with financial regulations and company policies. This role supports strategic decision-making through detailed analysis and timely reporting.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in F&B or retail, with strong Excel and ERP skills, and the ability to lead junior staff and coordinate audits.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee journal entries; ensure reconciliation of general ledger and subsidiary accounts.
• Analyze financial statements, expenditures and revenue accounts.
• Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Monitor financial transactions and ensure accurate recording in the accounting system.
• Prepare and review financial reports including balance sheets, income statements and cash flows.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes; ensure timely collections and payments.
• Coordinate and support audits (internal and external).
• Ensure accurate preparation of invoices and financial documents.
• Analyze variances and provide management with recommendations.

Job description

The Senior Accountant should lead and oversee accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with financial regulations, and alignment with organizational, operational, and QHSE standards. The Senior Accountant plays a key role in financial analysis, reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making.

Duties and Essential Job Functions

Management:

1. Support the development and maintenance of a strong company image focused on excellence and customer satisfaction.
2. Handson work expereinces in Treasury controls and reporting, Cash flow management, Banking and credit facilities, LC/LG management and FX risk management
3. Maintain up-to-date professional and technical knowledge in accounting standards and practices.
4. Supervise and guide junior accounting staff, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in daily operations.
5. Contribute to team objectives and support cross-functional collaboration.

Technical:

Minimum Job Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA are highly preferred

Professional Experience

• Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of progressive experience in accounting
• Prior experience in F&B or retail industry is an advantage
• Experience in a supervisory or senior role is preferred

Competencies Required

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
• Experience with accounting systems and ERP software
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in English and Arabic is mandatory
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Required Licenses/Certifications

• CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred
• Membership in a recognized accounting body is an advantage
