Job summary

Al Khaled Factory in Kuwait City seeks a hands-on Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the mechanical architecture and chassis for custom caravans on a Doha, Qatar project.

You will own the vehicle frame, analyze structural loads, and map the assembly workflow with 3D CAD diagrams. Collaborate with fabrication teams and cross-functional electrical/power groups to ensure safe, robust designs. On-site execution in Doha with Kuwait head office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or Structural Engineering.
• 3–6 years hands-on experience in chassis design or structural fabrication.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for mechanical and structural modeling.
• Knowledge of metal fabrication, welding, and load analysis.
• Ability to turn complex manufacturing steps into clear drawings, diagrams, and flowcharts.
• Willingness to work on-site for Doha, Qatar project with Kuwait head office.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and optimize vehicle chassis, frames, and structural supports using 3D CAD tools.
• Account for weight distribution, dynamic loads, and safety compliance in rugged conditions.

About the Role:

We are a growing company headquartered in Kuwait, seeking a skilled and hands-on Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the mechanical architecture, structural framework, and process diagramming for custom caravans and mobile units on our project in Doha, Qatar.

In this role, you will take ownership of the vehicle chassis, metal framing, structural load calculations, and body layout. You will also map out the full assembly workflow, translating production steps into clear, professional engineering diagrams and process flowcharts for our workshop team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Chassis & Structural Design: Design, analyze, and optimize vehicle chassis, frames, and structural supports for custom caravans and mobile trailers using 3D CAD software.
• Structural Integrity & Loads: Account for weight distribution, towing forces, dynamic road vibrations, and safety compliance under rugged conditions.
• Process Mapping & Diagramming: Document the manufacturing lifecycle by creating clear assembly workflows, structural blueprints, and standard operating procedure (SOP) flowcharts.
• Fabrication & Workshop Oversight: Work closely with fabricators and technicians on-site to ensure the frame, chassis, and body are built precisely to engineering specifications.
• Cross-Functional Integration: Coordinate with our electrical and power systems team to ensure seamless mechanical housing for solar setups, battery banks, water/gas tanks, and wiring paths.
• Project Execution: Deliver on-site engineering operations for our project based in Doha, Qatar, while maintaining alignment with our head office in Kuwait.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or Structural Engineering.
• Experience: 3 to 6 years of hands-on experience in vehicle chassis design, trailer/caravan manufacturing, or structural fabrication.
• Core Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for mechanical and structural modeling.
• Strong knowledge of metal fabrication (welding, cutting, sheet shaping), material selection, and structural load analysis.
• Proven ability to turn complex manufacturing steps into clear technical drawings, process diagrams, and flowcharts.
• Practical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and structural challenges on the shop floor.
• Mobility: Fully willing and able to work on-site for project execution in Doha, Qatar, managed through our Kuwait head office.
