Job summary

Penspen is seeking an experienced Materials Engineer to monitor contractor requisitions, manage materials testing, and ensure adherence to QHSE standards on onshore oil and gas projects in Kuwait.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years in materials management and 2–5 years in design/construction of onshore plants, with knowledge of industry codes and strong liaison skills between client and contractor. The position is based in Kuwait and requires close collaboration with the Resident Engineer.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–10 years of materials management experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
• 2–5 years' experience in design and construction of onshore plants.
• Familiar with industry standard codes and construction practices.
• Liaise between client and contractor and report to the Resident Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and check contractor requisitions, work packages, risk and method statements to optimize work processes.
• Witness and verify compliance with the design specification and oversee construction to ensure QHSE standards.
• Provide on-the-job training to client counterpart.
• Oversee sampling of materials, testing soil, asphalt and concrete works.
• Monitor tests on raw materials or finished products to ensure quality.

About The Job
The Materials Engineer shall monitor and check all Contractor requisitions, work packages, risk and method statements etc. to ensure optimized work processes. Witness and verify compliance with the design specification including oversight of construction to ensure QHSE standards are maintained. In addition, he shall provide on the job training to his client counterpart. He shall oversee all sampling of material, testing soil, asphalt and concrete works.
He shall monitor all tests on raw materials or finished products in order to ensure their quality.
The suitable candidate should have a minimum of 5–10 years of relevant materials management experience within the Oil & Gas industry together with a minimum of 2–5 years' experience in the design and construction of onshore plants. The ideal candidate shall be familiar with industry standard codes and construction practises. Will perform liaison duties between client and Contractor reporting to the Resident Engineer.
The job location will be based on Al-kuwait - the preferred candidates must be located in Al-kuwait.
