Job summary

Qualifications

• Proven experience in hydraulic repair workshop management or similar mechanical/industrial workshop role.
• Strong technical knowledge of hydraulic cylinders, pumps, seals, machining, and welding processes.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills.
• Ability to prepare quotations, costings, and technical reports.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with workshop software, spreadsheets, or ERP systems is a plus.
• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred, but experience can substitute).

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the workshop (Cylinder, Pump, Chroming, Seals, Welding, Engineering divisions).
• Allocate jobs, monitor workflow, and ensure timely delivery of projects.
• Supervise technicians, machinists, welders, seal fabricators, and support staff.
• Oversee job intake, inspection, costing, and quotation processes.
• Ensure quality standards are maintained, including inspection reports, testing protocols, and service documentation.
• Control workshop costs, including labor, materials, and overheads.
• Implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and enforce safety regulations.
• Act as the main point of contact between management and customers for technical issues.
• Develop staff skills through training and performance evaluations.
