Job summary

Worley seeks a senior Contracts Administrator to oversee end-to-end contract management for oil and gas facilities projects. You will lead pre- and post-award activities, coordinate with legal, risk and accounting teams, and ensure proper documentation and compliance throughout the contract lifecycle.

The role requires 15+ years in industry, 5+ years in oil & gas, and 8+ years as a lead contracts administrator.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science/arts from an accredited university.
  • MRICS or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Minimum 15 years of total experience post graduate studies.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in oil and gas, refinery, or petrochemical industry.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a lead contracts administrator or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Manage pre-award activities including bid invitation prep, bidder queries, bid evaluation programs, bid evaluation and award formalities.
  • Oversee post-award activities including kick-off meetings, submittals, variation orders, claims and close out.
  • Draft invitation to tender packages for large oil/gas facility contracts and propose comments on client terms as needed.
  • Coordinate with legal, risk, tax, and accounting teams for contract approvals.
  • Act as part of a negotiating team to establish contract terms and conditions.
  • Monitor contract compliance and report scope, financial and risk features to PM.
  • Ensure documentation for change orders is produced and maintained.
  • Prepare client letters for approvals and interpretations per contract.
  • Ensure project/asset acceptance documents are prepared and signed by client.
  • Provide business/financial information to client as delegated by PM.
  • Identify contractual problems and drive timely resolutions with management input.
  • Maintain contract quality standards.

What you will do

Manages, provides advice on and administers all activities concerned with contracts for works and services associated with oil and gas facilities projects carried out under various contract forms and modes of reimbursement.

  • Responsible for pre–award activities including bid invitation preparation, processing queries from bidders, preparation of bid evaluation programs, evaluation of bids, negotiation, contract preparation and award formalities.
  • Responsible for post–award activities including conducting kick–off meetings, coordinating all contract submittals and correspondence, preparation and processing of variation orders, claims and close out.
  • Manages the drafting of invitation to tender packages for contracts for large oil and gas facilities projects. Reviews and, if necessary, proposes comments on and alternative text or clauses to client contract conditions.
  • Reviews issues with legal, risk management, tax, and accounting personnel as a condition precedent to submitting to management for approval.
  • Functions as a part of a negotiating team consisting of project management staff, to establish the terms and conditions of a contract.
  • Monitors and ensures the business provisions of assigned contracts are administered to ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions. Keeps the Projects Contracts Manager advised as to the scope, financial, and risk features of applicable contracts.
  • Ensures documentation to negotiate change orders are properly produced and maintained.
  • Prepares letters to clients requesting approvals and interpretations necessary to comply with the provisions of the contract.
  • Ensures project or facility acceptance documents are prepared and followed through and that acceptances are signed by the client.
  • Furnishes business and financial information requested by the client concerning the project, as delegated by the Project Manager.
  • Identifies contractual problems and takes appropriate action to ensure a satisfactory resolution. Follows up on those problems which demand management attention, to ensure timely response to the client.
  • Management of contract quality standards.
What you will bring
  • Full-time bachelor's degree in engineering or degree in science or arts from an accredited university.
  • Chartered status (MRICS) or equivalent professional qualifications.
  • Minimum 15 years of total experience post graduate studies.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the oil and gas, refinery, or petrochemical industry.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a lead contracts administrator or equivalent.
  • Extensive knowledge of contractual terms and conditions and commercial contract law.
  • Experience in contract enhancement procedures.
  • Middle East experience is preferred.
