Job summary

Anton Oilfield Services Group in Kuwait is seeking an Instrumentation Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot field instrumentation and control systems on-site at client sites. You will read and interpret instrument drawings, calibrate equipment, and service valves, transmitters, and regulators while ensuring compliance with HSE procedures.

The role requires hands-on experience in oil & gas environments and a proactive safety mindset.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent in instrumentation or electronics required.
• 3+ years in instrumentation maintenance in oil & gas, refinery or petrochemical industries.
• Alternatively, secondary certificate with 5+ years of instrumentation experience in oil & gas.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain field instrumentation and related equipment at workshops and sites.
• Read, interpret, and convert units (PSI, bar, mmHg, inches water gauge) on drawings.
• Operate instrument testing and calibration equipment including manometers, testers, gauges and comparators.
• Inspect instruments on-site, perform functional checks, venting and draining.
• Maintain and overhaul control valves, regulators, actuators, transmitters and switches.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform installation, removal, repair, and maintenance of field instrumentation and associated equipment in workshops and operational sites.
• Carry out instrument fitting, tubing installation, tube bending, and related bench-fitting activities using appropriate hand tools.
• Read, interpret, and convert common engineering measurement units, including PSI, bar, mmHg, inches of water gauge, and metric units.
• Operate instrument testing and calibration equipment, including manometers, deadweight testers, test gauges, comparators, and oil baths.
• Perform on-site instrument inspections, functional checks, and venting and draining activities.
• Service, maintain, and overhaul control valves, regulators, actuators, transmitters, and switches.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation faults and support maintenance of turbo-compressors and other rotating equipment instrumentation.
• Maintain safe working conditions and follow applicable HSE procedures.
• Maintain proper housekeeping and ensure tools and equipment are kept in good condition.

Qualification Requirements

• Diploma in Instrumentation, Instrumentation & Control, Electronics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in instrumentation maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and overhaul within the Oil & Gas, refinery, or petrochemical industry.

OR

• Secondary School Certificate.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant instrumentation maintenance experience in the Oil & Gas, refinery, or petrochemical industry.
• Hands‑on experience with turbo-compressor and rotating equipment instrumentation.
• Practical experience maintaining and repairing field instruments, including transmitters, switches, control valves, and actuators.
• Knowledge of instrument fitting, tubing, calibration, and testing equipment.
